Our comet runners take it to the hills this afternoon as they will run the U of Windsor "Thrill on the Hill" meet.
This is a fantastic "dry run" (hopefully) for WECSSAA.  Runners are reminded go to Period 3 for attendance, then change and meet in the Lobby at Noon as the first run is at 1:00 sharp.   A list of participants is on the bbs.

Congratulations to both the Sr & the Jr Girls Basketball teams on their wins over Kennedy. Both teams played with heart and team spirit!  The Sr girls will play in the  L'essor tournament this weekend.  Game times are 4:30 Friday, & 9 & 1:30 Saturday.  If you have the time, come on out & support the SR girls team.

Fwd: Prayers for peace today

Prayers for peace will meet at lunch today for prayers the first 7 minutes of lunch. Come as a group and pray for peace, which is much needed at this time. Everyone is welcome to pray, in the chapel, first seven minutes of lunch.

Congratulations to the Sr boys volleyball team for last nights win against Lajenuesse.  Team defeated Lajenuesse 2 games to 1.  Both Jr. and Sr. teams travel to Leamington tomorrow in hopes for yet another victory!  Go Comets!

The Jr boys football team lost 36-20 yesterday at massey. The boys held on tough for 2 quarters but massey pulled away in the second half.
Touchdowns were scored by Ramcow and Patrick DouangCatha .

The First day of Fall is upon us and our Comet runners will be participating in the Raider Run hosted by Assumption at Mic Mac Park after school tonight.

Fwd: University of Windsor visit

The University of Windsor will be here to do a presentation to the Gr. 12 University level students on Wednesday, Sept. 24th. The presentation will take place at 8:30 in the cafeteria. Students in Mrs. Guenette's, Mrs. Naccarato's, and Mr. D'Andrea's class are invited. Those Gr. 12 U-level students in other classes can attend but must make arrangements with a Guidance counselor prior to Wednesday in order to attend.

On Friday the Sr. boys volleyball team participated in the annual General Amherst tournament.  During pool play the team lost 2 to villanova, who eventually went on to win the tournamentt, and split a match each with General Amherst and Massey.  The team advanced to the bronze pool and defeated Kingsville in the an exciting third set semi final game.  In the final game of the night CCH came up on top defeating general Amherst 2 straight games!  Congratulations boys and Erin!!!  The comets hope to continue their victory run this week with a season game against Lajeunesse on Tuesday and then Leamingtom on Thursday!  Go Comets!!!

Fwd: College Information Program

Attention Gr. 12 College students! St. Clair College is once again hosting the College Information Program on Oct. 6th from 9:00 until 12:00. Those students interested should come to Guidance to pick up a permission form to have signed and returned to Guidance. Only 40 students will be allowed to participate, and those first 40 students who return their permission forms will be invited to attend. We will still accept forms after the first 40 are in as often students fail to attend for a variety of reasons and we will pull from a reserve list if needed. See Guidance for further details.

Congratulations goes out to the sr boys volleyball team who defeated L'essor last night taking all 3 games in the season opener.  Great job comets.  The team travel to General Amherst school this afternoon to play in a tournament good luck boys!  team is reminded to be in the lobby at 1:25, teachers please dismiss the team at 1:15.

The jr boys volleyball team played a great game against l'essor last night! The boys fought hard and came out winning one set! Shout out goes to Buddy Rocca and Marcel Sharma for being nominated as game  Mvps. Thanks to everyone who came out to support the team ! Great Job Boys!!

Fwd(2): Sr. Girls Basketball Announcement

The Sr. Girls basketball team opened their season last night on the road at Sandwich. We Defeated the Sandwich Sabres 53-52.
The Sr. Girls played as a team last night and built a halftime lead. The team got tired in the second half and allowed the Sabres to come back and lead in the last minute. Shu-Wei Zhu scored with about 2 sec. left to secure the win.
Leading the way was Shu-wei with 17pts , Krista LaGasse with 13. Great team effort by Jessie Miller, Taylor Galvano  and Brianne Mitchell-Wilson.

The Sr. Comets will play Kennedy at CCH on Tues. Make plans to be there to cheer on the senior team!!

Fwd: Announcement for today

1. Senior boys football game tonight at Villanova at 3 pm. Good luck Comets! Teachers are asked to dismiss the boys at 12:20 p.m. Players can get their jerseys at lunch or at 12:20. Good luck guys!

2. Junior and Senior Girls basketball. First game at Sandwich today! Bus leaves at 2:30 sharp. Don't change, just get on the bus and change there. Good luck Comets!!

3. The Jr Boys Football team opened the season with a thrilling 27-21 win over St. Joseph yesterday afternoon at Windsor Stadium. Quarterback Patrick Douanchantha scored 2 touchdowns and passed to Daniel Crosby for 2 more to lead the offence. Caleb Akinsaya also contributed many fine runs to help the offence.
  Patrick intercepted a pass in the end zone to end any St Joesph comeback attempt.
Special shout out to linemen Raymond Caza, Mario Angelo and Braydon Durham who pounded a bigger St Joe's line all game long in the trenches.

3. Comet Hoodies are being ordered tomorrow and should be in by end of next week.

4. Intramurals start Tuesday for dodgeball at lunch.

The CCH Design & 3D Printing Club is new to CCH this year and will be open to students in Grades 9 thru 12.
If you are interested in learning computer aided design, and the exciting area of 3D printing then stop by room 301 to see Mr. Spina.
Next week a signup sheet will be posted outside room 301 and meetings will begin shortly in preparation for the delivery of our new 3D printer in October.

Passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving family on September 11, 2014 at the age of 57. Loving and cherished wife to Raymond. Beloved mother to Christian Nelson and Melanie Croppo, Andrea Nelson and Cory Oickle, step-mother to James and Becca Marcoux, Christine and Eric Shelley. Adored Grammy to Cullen, Braedon, Madelyn and Jocelyn, Rachel, Ryan and Elliot, Benjamin and Mary Jane. Devoted daughter to Benjamin and Yolande Westfall. Beloved sister to Ken and Kim Westfall, Kathy Westfall, Marlene Westfall, Mark and Karen Westfall. Dear daughter-in-law to Eloi and Raymonde Marcoux. Dear sister-in-law to Normand and Faye Marcoux, Lorraine and Jean-Paul St. Pierre, Diane and Norval Wilson, Rene and Jo-Anne Marcoux, Paul and Diane Marcoux. Missing Patricia is her loving cat Schmee. Patricia will be missed by her many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends and her co-workers at the Windsor Essex Catholic District School Board. Patricia had a love of board games and cards and pity on those who played against her! A lady that is known to give the best hugs in all the world. Fwd: announcements for today

1. The Senior Boys football team opened their season with a 23-13 loss to Brennan last night. Touchdowns came from Eriq Jenkins and Dominic Johnson. Coach Rice was proud of the way the boys played and he's looking forward to great things from the team this season. The players are reminded that there is no practice today and we have film on Monday at 3 pm in room 215. If you need your uniform washed properly, please bring it to the Phys. Ed dept and we will do it for you. Have a great weekend.

2. Intramural dodgeball sign ups wrap up today. The schedule will be made this weekend and games start Tuesday in the big gym at lunch. See Mrs. Ditchfield and Mrs. McClounie in the main lobby at lunch to sign up.

Fwd: Comic Club Announcement for Today!

Comic Club is back for the next school year. We will be meeting in room 311 after school today. If you are interested in comics, super heros, making new friends, and helping with community events, then Comic Club is for you. New members are welcomed to join the founding members of last year.

Today we will be discussing the Super Hero Run at Malden Park in September and introducing new members.

2. CCH sweatpants and hoodies will be in in the next two weeks. Cost is $30.00 for pants and $40.00 for a hoodie.

Homework Club will start this Thursday after school - Thursday, September 11th. It will run every Tuesday and every Thursday from 2:20 until 3:45 in room 110. Staff and volunteers will be available to assist students with homework, projects, organizational skills and with studying for quizzes, tests and exams.
