Exciting weekend for the junior girls basketball team as they finished third overall in the L''Essor Junior Invitational Tournament.  Friday they defeated Lajeuensse 49-19, Mori Motto and Silvana Lopez were high scorers with an outstanding team effort.  Saturday they ran up against the #1 Kingsville Cavaliers (who won the tournament) and played a hard fought aggressive game losing 45-32.  Mori and Silvana again high scorers and a great defensive rebounding game by the Deng sisters Aleitte and Ayack.  Saturday's consolation final brought Assumption to the table and a huge payback win for the Comets defeating the Raiders 32-16.  Great outside shooting from Nina Salama, Aleitte and Ayack were huge on the boards and overall awesome teamwork, sportsmanship and effort was given.  So proud of you ladies!!!  Thank you to Mrs. McBride and Mrs. Colley-Vegh for their cheerleading efforts...and Mrs. Fraser's brownies...Practice 245pm in the big gym....Go Comets
