Wed volleyball

Congratulations goes out to both the Jr and Sr girls volleyball teams on their wins last night against Cardinal Carter ! Great work ladies ! See you all at practice tonight at 3:30 !

Senior Boys Basketball

Last night, your senior boys traveled to St. Anne's high school and came out victorious. Leading by as many as 13, the Comets held off the Saints to win 68 to 64. The comets were led by a balanced scoring attack: Dylan Samuels 18, Adrian Guenther 15, Roberto Asy 12 and Duat Said 12 and a great defensive game by Buddy Rocca. 

Boys, we are off until December Thursday 28th. Coach Gebrael will notify you of the time. Merry Christmas.

Dance Team

Attention all members of the Dance Team...dance rehearsals have been cancelled for this week and will resume on Monday, January 8th.  Please be sure to sell your chocolate bars and get your money to Mrs. Naccarato as soon as possible.  Also, if you need more boxes of chocolates or have not yet picked up your boxes (Violet, Kalala, Nilu, and Anisha), you need to see Mrs. Naccarato!

The Youth Troop is a club dedicated to helping our school and local community while working with the Canadian Cancer Society. Swing by room 105 today and see what we're about. It's a great chance to meet new people and take part in a worthy cause.

Junior Boys Basketball

This weekend the Junior Boys Basketball team played in a tournament at Riverside High School. 

Ardi Avado lead the team in sciring averaging 18 points a game. Alex Pennell, Dimo Jing and Ali Shammari played very well in all 3 games. Great job gentlemen.

Dance Team Chocolate Bar Fundraiser

Attention all CCH staff and students, the CCH dance team is kicking off their chocolate bar sales today.  Chocolate bars are $2 and the funds raised will help pay for their dancefest registration.  So dig deep and buy a few chocolate bars before they sell out!
Also, all dance team members MUST grab their boxes of chocolate from Mrs. Naccarato from room 314 at the very beginning of lunch TODAY!



Friday volleyball

The Lady Comets started off their volleyball season against Assumption last night . The Jr Girls were able to come out with their first win and although the Sr Girls put up a fight they fell short . Both teams will be participating in a tournament at St Clair college this weekend with the Jr Girls playing today and the Sr Girls playing Saturday ! Good luck Comets !!

Model United Nations Team - Monday December 4th

Congratulations to six of our brightest Comets - Nadeen Makhzoum, Nardeen Wanis, John Brink, Kirsten Nicolas, Lisa Thompson, and Jasmine Helou - who particpated in the 2017 Canadian American Security Council Summit in Lansing, Michigan this past Friday and Saturday. This year's Model United Nations Team worked hard to prepare their research and represented Catholic Central well amongst 600 other high school students by jumping right in! Ms. Nehmetallah and all of Catholic Central is extremely proud of these hardworking six students!  If you see them in the hall or in your classes, give them a huge congratulations!!

The Senior Boys played in their first live action this weekend and finished 3rd at the 31st annual Freeds Tournament, which was held at CCH. Shout out to Big "M", Malachi Cokley on being voted tournament all star by the committee. Your teammates and coaches are proud of you. Practice is tonight at 4:10PM. We have work to do!

Please read and input your information by the end of today.

Semi Formal is coming up soon on the 24th but there are still a few contracts missing. There will be no more tickets available at this point. A list of students who still need to hand in their contracts is posted outside of room 314. Those students will NOT be let in, regardless if they paid their ticket price. No contract = no entry! Hand in missing contracts to Ms. Nehmetallah or Mrs. Naccarato as soon as possible.

New Tech Crew Members

Hello CCH...

Are you a lover of all things technology?
If so we are looking to fill some new openings within our CCH Tech Crew.
This Crew is responsible for producing/maintaining the content on the lobby TV, helping out with audio/video during Masses along with other small tech related jobs around the school. Also within the group we aim to run small workshops such as 3d printing, Photoshop, SketchUP 3D modeling and more.

The time commitment is very minimal with only 1 hour long weekly meeting per week.
Yes that's it one hour per week!

See Mr. Spina in room 301 if interested.

Tuesday - volleyball

The Senior Boys volleyball saw their terrific season come to an end last night as they took on a Sandwich powerhouse. The boys put up a valiant effort but came up short in securing a semi final berth! Your coaches are so proud of your dedication and work ethic. Special mention to the graduating boys, you will be missed !

The junior boys continued their dominance after defeating Kingsville 3-1 In front of a packed crowd in Kingsville. The boys travel to Sandwich on Wednesday for the semi finals! Good luck boys.

Listen Up CCH!  Central Stage Theatre will be hosting its first-ever Fall Arts Fest, on November 22nd.  The Sign-up sheet is located on the Arts Board outside of the theatre.  Auditions will be next Monday, November 13th in the auditorium after school.  All dancers, singers, and musicians are invited to sign up.

On Friday night both the Jr and Sr boys volleyball teams started their playoff season at home - both teams were able to sweep all three sets in front of a home crowd ! Thank you to all students and the staff that came out to support the team ! Mr Nuic , Ms Houlahan , Ms Rice and Ms Mastromatei   Thank you for taking time out of your Friday night ! 

Playoff season continues Monday with the Sr boys playing sandwich and the Jr boys playing kingsville ! #gocomets

Bridge Busting Comp. Conclusion

Saturday morning five design students took part in the Professional Engineers of Ontario Bridge Busting Competition at the University of Windsor's Centre for Engineering Innovation. CCH students have faired well in this event over the past 4 years. 2017 would prove to be no different!
Our very own Ahlam Al-Hasnawy surpassed the competition with her bridge design holding 150lbs more than the nearest competitor. Her 218 piece popsicle stick bridge held a whopping 302lbs before breaking.
Special congrats to her and our other Comet competitors for their passion, and dedication.

Thursday announcement



Last Night the Junior and Senior boys secured divisional championships for Volleyball! Not only did the boys display hard work and dedication throughout each and every practice, but also during each of their games which helped them both secure undefeated seasons. The Juniors end their season 8-0 while the Seniors end theirs 10-0! Please congratulate them if you see them walk the halls! Playoff games will be this Friday, at Catholic Central, at 4pm and 520pm!

The senior girls basketball team ended their season with a loss at Assumption last night. The score was 55 to 49. It was a very close game and the ladies played their hearts out.

Silvana, Kathrin, and Karla each scored three 3 point shots, Haiden scored two 3 point shots and Samhar scored one 3 point shot.

It was a disappointing loss but the ladies should be proud of themselves for a great season.

Your Lady Comets Junior Basketball team began the playoffs with a convincing 56-25 victory over the Assumption Purple Raiders.
Your leading scorers were Reem Asy with 17 points; Sarah Ding with 13 points; Vicky Emanuel with 8points and with her first 3 pointer of the season, Nour Mroueh.

Great job by all of the ladies! Playoffs continue Tuesday but the game will be on the road at Sandwich Secondary at 3pm.

playoff basketball for Monday October 30

On Thursday October 26 the Lady Comets played their final regular season game against Massey. The score was 55 to 46 for Massey. 3 point shooters were Jaymee Carter with two, Karla Al Najm with one and Haiden Elliott with one.



The senior girls basketball team is playing their semi final playoff game at Assumption today at 4 p.m. The cabs will be at the Mercer St entrance at 2:45. Good luck ladies!!!!

SWOSSAA Cross Country

Congratulations to Ines Costa who ran a personal best at the SWOSSAA cross county meet yesterday. From her first meet in September to yesterday's SWOSSAA, she was able to improve her 4km race time by 7minutes!! Go Comets!

Build A Dream

Any female students who are interested in going to the Build A Dream event at the Ciociaro Club on November 2, 2017 please register online or submit a registration sheet to Mrs. Cvetkovski or your teacher by Tuesday.   If you would like to bring your parent/guardian, or friend, please let Mrs. Cvetkovski know.  The bus is free.  The dinner is free.  All we need is for you to join us on the bus!

Semi Formal Contracts and Tickets

Semi Formal will be on Friday November 24th at the Fogolar Furlan Club. Contracts for CCH students are now available outside of room 314. ALL students must have a signed contract with a parents' phone number before buying a ticket next week. If you are bringing a guest, your guest MUST be a high school student and needs their contract signed by their principal or vice principal.

Tickets will be on sale for $20 starting next Wednesday, November 1st in the main lobby at lunch. If you have any questions, feel free to ask Mrs. Naccarato or Ms. Nehmetallah.

Junior Football

Congratulations to the Junior Football team as they defeated the General Amherst Bulldogs yesterday by a score of 8-3.  The Comets were able to bear the rough elements of wind and cold to secure a victory. The lone touchdown was score by Cole Mayville on a 50 yrd run.  Cole also converted on the 2 point play.  The Junior Comets take on Kennedy next Tuesday at Windsor Stadium at 4pm.



Senior girls basketball game announcement for Wed Oct 25


Last night the senior girls basketball team won their game against L'Essor with a score of 53 to 40.

Haiden Elliott scored 16 points including two 3 point shots

Karla Al Najm scored 13 points with one 3 point shot and Silvana Lopez scored two 3 point shots.

Fantastic teamwork by all the ladies!! Congratulations !

Your Lady Comets Junior basketball team lost a close game to L'Essor last night 35-33.  Leading scorers were Sarah Ding with 14 points and Sandra Ding with 7 points.

Model UN meeting - Tuesday October 24

Take Our Kids to Work Day

All grade 9 students who plan to be away on November 1st and go to learn more about their parents', relatives' or guardians' workplace, make sure your permission forms are submitted to your teacher.   



Build a Dream

Attention all grade 9 to grade 11 female students.  The 5th annual Build a Dream event is on Thursday, November 2nd between 4:30 and 8 pm at the Ciociaro Club.  You will get a chance to meet with some amazing women in the trades and very successful small business owners.  This event also includes a free dinner.  For the first time, a bus will be able to take interested students to this event from CCH and return to school.   See your teacher or Mrs. Cvetkovski for more details.

The senior girls basketball team was defeated at Tecumseh Vista last night with a score of 39 to 31.

Haiden Elliott had 10 points with two 3 point shots.  Samhar Gezehey and Silvana Lopez each had 6 points. Congratulations ladies

All Lady Comet team members going to the tournament at L'Essor tonight are to be at the Mercer entrance at 3:45 in order to take cabs to L'Essor. Please be on time and ready to roll

Friday Oct. 20th AM - Jr. Girl's Basketball


Your Lady Comets Junior Basketball team improved to 6-2 with a 39-29 victory at Tecumseh Vista.

 Reem Asy led the way with 12 points and Sarah Ding had 8 points, including 2 clutch 3-pointers down the stretch.  The girl's were down 5 points with 4 minutes left but some great defensive pressure, led by Caren Corpuz made the difference down the stretch.

Way to go Ladies! Practice Monday after school.
